Unique Moments Photography from Gig Harbor Washington met with Marley and Chris for their engagement session at Kerry Park In Downtown Seattle. Kerry Park is a 1.26 acres park on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Washington, located at the corner of 2nd Avenue W. and W. Highland Drive. According to a plaque on a wall in the park, “Kerry Park [was] given to the City in 1927 by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry, Sr., so that all who stop here may enjoy this view.” That view encompasses downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, the West Seattle peninsula, Bainbridge Island, and Mount Rainier..
Well kerry Park does not disappoint for a view. It is also one of the premier places where clients and photographers want to go to capture pictures so the park is often packed. It is not uncommon to be forced to park 1-2 blocks away and walk back to the park. However, on the day of this engagement session, Rain was in the forecast and it had been raining non stop for 2 days prior. We really did not think we were going to be ale to get the session in at all. However, a break between storms was in the forecast and we decided to go for it.
We got lucky. The clouds parted and we had bright blue and sunny skys at noon and there was almost no one in the park. We captured images in the area and headed over to the west side to beat out an approaching storm. The plan was perfect and we got some great shots in before the deluge.
A 2017 wedding awaits these two and we cant wait for it to get here. Unique Moments photography provides a free engagement session for every couple that retains us to photograph their wedding. We love doing them and it gets our clients comfortable with the photo process before the wedding day arrives. Our clients know how they will be posed and whats going to look great on them for their wedding day needs. So we feel its a total win win for everyone.
Kerry Park is located at 211 W Highland Dr, Seattle, WA 98119. This park is worth the drive and worth the wait to find a spot for pictures. Your clients will absolutly love the view.
