Unique Moments photography did not have to travel very far to capture this wedding. We were very excited to capture this wedding at the Cedar Springs wedding and Event center in Port Orchard Washington. Cedar Springs is a hidden Gem in the Gig harbor Port Orchard area. What an awesome venue it is and it’s set up perfectly for families to host a fantastic wedding at a very reasonable price point. With average total costs for weddings now exceeding $ 27,000.oo, Cedar springs allows families to make a huge dent in that figure. The venue is simply beautiful and families can cater in their own food and save a ton of Money as compared to a seated and plated meal at a fancy hotel or comparable venue. It really is a no brainer to see if you can book this facility for your wedding if an outdoor wedding in in the plans.
The day started off with Heather and Jaran playing it old school all the way. No first looks. Groom was waiting at the Isle to see his bride for the first time. Awesome. We love traditions. Heather got ready at her parents home and Jaran showed up ready to go . Formals of the guys and girls were captured before the ceremony started.
On a bright bright sunny day the ceremony started with the brides father escorting her across a bridge to the little Island area where the ceremony took place. This ceremony was very short and to the point. Vows were said, rings exchanged and after a kiss for luck and it was time to party. We captured bridal party and family photos after the ceremony as well as bride and grooms formal portraits. The total time was about 45 minutes to do this so its not a problem to capture weddings the way they used to be captured. You DONT have to do first looks If your heart is set on having the groom see you as you walk down the isle. There are advantages of doing it both ways. Just be sure you allow enough time to get the photos captured before you eat dinner. We really dont want to photoshop a wine stain from a bridal dress. DON’T let your photographer tell you that you have to do a first look. Do it the way you want to do it. As you can see, it worked out great capturing formals after the ceremony.
Reception activities included an awesome catered meal, speeches by the best man and maid of Honor and the father of the bride welcomed Jaran into the family. A nice cake cutting occurred, Bride and grooms first dance, a father daughter and Mom son dance, as well as a garter and Bouquet toss. It was a great reception for sure. Just as the sun set, We took the happy couple out to capture a few more sunset shots before the night ended.
We must say, Cedar springs is a really awesome venue. This was our first visit to this facility and we would love to go back. The feel of this facility is wonderful and photo opportunities are abundant. Guest love the beautiful landscaped facility, and most of all, its extremely affordable. This makes Cedar Springs a High demand facility. We spoke with the owner and they host about 40 weddings a year. So, call and Book early. This facility is a home run.
It was simply wonderful to be a part of this wedding. Heather and Jaran are such a great couple, they have wonderful loving supporting families and great friends. We loved seeing the support from family and friends and it was a total honor to be a part of this wedding. We had a total blast.
