Unique Moments Photography Traveled to Everett Washington to capture Erika and Joseph’s awesome wedding at the Monte Cristo Ballroom in Everett Washington 98201. The Monte Cristo Ballroom continues to be one of Washingtons finest wedding venues. It offers families a high end feel and look for weddings and a formal sit down dinner with their families and friends. This is our forth time back and each time we come back we are throughly impressed with the staff, the dinners that are provided and the ability to have your wedding and reception all in one awesome facility. It really is nice.
However, the Monte Cristo has some obstacles for the photography process that families need to be aware of and they need to be prepared to deal with this when they make up the timelines for the wedding. First off, you cant get inside the facility until 11:00AM. Brides must have make up people that can work fast and keep you on the timelines.
Second concern is that when you arrive, the chairs for your ceremony are set up and ready to go. So when its time for formals, some disassembly of the chairs will be necessary so that chairs are not in the formal pictures. Each time we have moved 3-4 rows of chairs for pictures the staff tends to cringe a bit. But its absolutly necessary especially if you have larger bridal parties. Families do not want chairs in the pictures.
We Highly suggest getting the bridal parties off the facility and go to Grand Avenue Park at 1720 Grand Ave, Everett, WA 98201 for some outside photography opportunities. Its just breaks up all the photos being captured inside the Monte Cristo. This wedding however had to deal with a little rain so the only thing close for photo ops was the side brick walls and the Alley next to the facility. Grand Ave Park is the closest park so keep this in mind for photos with the bridal party. Allow extra time if possible. Our bridal party decided to take advantage of the alley and brick walls when the rain stopped.
The last concern for the photography process is that its best to get all photos and formals done before the ceremony. As soon as the ceremony is completed, the staff need to breakdown all the chairs and they need to set up in the ceremony area for the formal sit down dinner. This means any photos that need to be captured after the ceremony are limited to the area in front of the fireplace. The staff will stay out of your way but there is no place else to go to capture photos in the lobby area. So be aware of this and do all photos prior. Those wanting to do their weddings “old school” and not have the groom see the bride until she walks down the isle, will have to deal with the staff setting up for dinner. Its load and can be hectic especially if you have large families. We have been to the monte Cristo 4 times now and its this way each time we go.
This wedding was wonderful. Erika and Joseph have loving supportive families and the pictures we posted really show how their day went. Reception activities included a formal sit down meal with family and friends, awesome wonderful delicious food, speeches by both fathers, cake cutting followed by a first dance with the bride and groom. A very emotional father Daughter dance followed and this couple partied the night away with their family and friends.This was a great wedding. Photography obstacles aside, the Monte Cristo ballroom is a first class high end facility that family and friends will never forget. Its a great place to have your wedding at and we Highly recommend.
