Unique Moments Photography of Gig Harbor Washington loves to go to cool spots for engagement sessions. George Smallwood park in Eatonville is one of those spots. Located in Eatonville, The park has a rich history and nature along the banks of the salmon-rearing Mashel River.
The entrance of Smallwood Park; named for a prominent and longtime Eatonville resident, George Howard Smallwood. A decorated World War II vet, Smallwood served on the Town Council and as mayor, as well as spending 31 years as a wildlife agent for the Washington Fish and Wildlife. Tough on poachers, he was awarded Wildlife Agent of the Year in 1972.
The park has a little pond where this image was captured and it has trails that go into the forest. Trails also go along the banks of the Mashel River so there are plenty of quiet places to capture images for an engagement session. Our guys like to go to locations like this because they get a chance to get out and hike and there is usually No One around for those public displays of affection images that the girls LOVE to capture. Mt Rainier is right around the corner and there are waterfalls and awesome spots within 2-3 miles of this park. Smallwood park is a great starting point for an extended session as the area is rich with photo opportunities.
