We Think that  Franklin Falls, during the summer months, is a fairly easy waterfall to get to for maternity portraits. There is a hike but if you follow Hwy 47 you will find a turn out about a 1/2 mile past the campground near the falls. The trail is right at the turn out so very obvious and easy to spot. That said, we tried to hike in in June and there was still 1-2 feet of snow on the ground and we could not get close to the falls. Its a problem free trail in our opinion but we do a lot of hiking.

The trail to the falls is well marked, has some slight elevations and at the end, you will need to cross some rocks on a rock trail carved into the Mountainside. It is very easy to do and as long as it is not wet or icy, you should have no issues.

This young lady was 3 weeks from delivery and had zero issues hiking in and she was in tennis shoes. So Its a very easy peasy hike. You will hike approximately 1.5 total miles for this trip. I find its best to hit these falls in the morning light and try to et there before the hash afternoon light hits the face of the falls. These images were captured at 1PM in the afternoon and the sun was just starting to hit the upper left corner.
